2026 Maverick Awards: Sharing Outcomes
The Maverick Awards offer us a great opportunity to review the tremendous work happening across Canada, profile this work, and celebrate these leaders and the progression of sustainable building practices.
As we move into autumn, we want to share some of the results from this year’s marketing activity. We were so impressed with those who submitted, representing those from British Columbia through to Ontario. Meanwhile, the judges were challenged with choosing the winners—with a range of projects and nominated ambassadors, this was no easy task. This year's winners were Effect Home Builders, Edmonton; Excel Homes, Calgary & Edmonton; Carbon Wise, Vancouver; and Best Builders' Phoenix House, Abbotsford. See them here.
Exposure
As a niche awards program with three exclusive winners per year (this year, we had a two-way tie, so we had four winners), our marketing communications activity offers in-depth coverage of the winners. Rather than a gala, we invest our resources into showcasing the excellent work being done in the built environment.

We are grateful to all those driving progress in sustainability practices in the built environment, and with the Maverick Awards, to have another opportunity to spotlight a selection of these achievements.
Highlighting our finalists and winners allows us to show the strength of sustainability practices, with actual examples of the people involved and the work they’re doing.
2027 Maverick Awards
