Built Green Canada Harmonizes Delivery Model
British Columbia opens up to new Service Organizations
Edmonton, AB, (September 9, 2013) — As Built Green Canada continues to evolve, the decision has been made to harmonize its delivery model across Canada. The decision to move to a more cohesive, nation-wide delivery model follows the organization’s long-term plans of diversification, in part through geographic expansion. To this end, Built Green Canada will maintain its strong working relationship with department G, Canadian Home Builders Association British Columbia (CHBA BC) as the sole service provider of Built Green® Program delivery in the province; however, this market will now open up to include alternate Service Organizations to work within this model.
“We’re excited about the decision for a consistent delivery model and anticipate this will allow us to broaden the Built Green Canada community and its offerings for existing and new members, as well as all of the service providers that make up the Built Green Canada ecosystem,” says Jenifer Christenson, Built Green Canada executive director. “We have tremendous respect and gratitude for the builders, developers and all those associated with our programs that are committed to a high level of environmental performance - it is through their support that we’re seeing continuous improvements to environmentally responsible construction.”
“For builders that have an established relationship with a Service Organization outside of CHBA BC, this change will allow that relationship to continue while adding on the benefits of the Built Green® program and all it has to offer,” says program director Vanessa Joehl, department G, CHBA BC “Or they can continue to work with us as their Service Organization. The choice falls in the hands of the Built Green certified Builder”
CHBA BC remains an active Service Organization and through its environmental stewardship division of department G, will continue to focus on their role with Built Green Canada as the delivery agent in British Columbia. department G administers the Built Green® Program, performing checklist quality assurance, delivering the Built Green® Training, and responding to day-to-day Built Green questions, all of which play a crucial role in the ongoing growth and success of the program.
New Service Organizations (SO) are encouraged to work within Built Green Canada’s community and those interested will be required to undergo a review process to ensure requirements are met including Built Green® training, as well as the signing of a series of agreements. Moreover, in recognition of those that have contributed to the success of Built Green Canada, it is worthy to pause and acknowledge the tremendous support of those Certified Energy Advisors (CEAs) who have been with us for some time. We want to ensure our builder members as well as any new Service Organizations we will be working with are familiar with these CEAs - a complete list of these BC-based CEAs arehere.
