Restorations Program

Each year, homes across Canada are affected by natural disasters and severe weather, and given the increase and severity of both, largely due to climate change, sustainable home restoration is needed more than ever. Built Green offers disaster preparedness options, improving a home's resiliency, helping reduce the need for future restorations. 

This program provides builders and homeowners with the opportunity to restore homes, while guided by a holistic program that addresses eight areas of sustainability: with energy efficiency as a key focus and going on to other critical aspects of sustainable building—like materials and methods, water conservation, occupant wellness, and waste management. 

The Restorations program is applicable to single family, multi-family residential homes, and small commercial. 

Home Certification 

We label homes that have met the compliance requirements for energy performance as well as the other seven key areas of sustainability outlined in Built Green's holistic programs. Our checklist guides the builder through the program, offering options on green features to integrate into their projects.

Our Restoration follows the same format as our Single Family program’s approach, which is a two-in-one certification: the EnerGuide label through Natural Resources Canada and the BUILT GREEN® label through Built Green Canada. Learn more.

Program Tools & Support

Built Green Canada provides program-specific tools, including a checklist, which guides the builder through the program, offering options on green features to integrate into their projects.
